WARRANTIES FOR CARS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. What is an Extended Warranty? A vehicle service contract or extended warranty is an agreement between the consumer and an administrator or insurance company to protect the automobile after its factory warranty has expired.
  2. I get factory coverage for free. Why do I need a vehicle service contract? Every manufacturer offers a bumper to bumper factory warranty limited by time and/or miles, usually 3 years and 36,000 miles. The factory warranty will most likely cover the repair or replacement of most vehicle components should they fail under normal operating conditions. An extended warranty from WarrantiesForCars provides additional coverage benefits that may not be included in your factory warranty, and it will provide comprehensive protection against repair costs for your car after the warranties provided by your vehicle’s manufacturer have expired.
  3. Can’t I get a vehicle service contract from the dealer where I bought my vehicle? Probably, although WarrantiesForCars can provide the same or better protection at much lower prices than a more profit-oriented auto dealer.
  4. I still have time left on my factory warranty. Why purchase a vehicle service contract now? If you buy today, you can take advantage of the low prices currently available and avoid paying higher rates later due to annual rate increases or high mileage surcharges.
  5. When does my service agreement become effective? Your service agreement becomes effective 1 month and 1000 miles from its purchase date.
  6. When does the vehicle service contract expire? At the end of the applicable time or miles. For example, a 5 year/75,000 mile vehicle service contract would expire 5 years from the sale date of the contract or when the vehicle’s odometer reaches 75,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
  7. Is there a deductible?  WarrantiesForCars offers plans with a per repair visit deductible of $100.  Deductibles are paid once per visit no matter how many repairs are done in that visit.
  8. What do I do when I experience a problem with my vehicle? How is a claim processed?
    1. Take your car to the nearest franchised dealership. This would be a dealership that sells your make of car. For example, if you own a Ford Taurus, take your Taurus to the nearest Ford dealership.
    2. Provide the repair facility with your contract.
    3. Have the repair facility contact our claim department at our toll-free number.
    4. We will authorize the covered repairs, less your deductible.
    5. Once the repairs are done to your satisfaction, we will pay the repair facility with a corporate credit card.
    6. If you cannot take your car to a franchised dealership, call the administrator.
  9. Is the extended warranty transferable? Yes. If you sell your vehicle, your extended warranty is fully transferable for a $50 processing fee. This will increase the resale value of your vehicle to potential buyers.
  10. How do I purchase an extended warranty from WarrantiesForCars? You can purchase your extended warranty securely on line by clicking on the button below and using your Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit cards. All orders are processed within the next business day.
  11. Can I purchase an extended warranty with a check or money order.  On our order form you can select check or money order as your method of payment.  Checks need to be sent to: WarrantiesForCars, 250 N.E. Mulberry, Lee's Summit MO 64086
